In this week’s box: Potatoes, Tomatoes, Green Beans, Arugula, Cucumbers, Garlic, Lettuce and Bell Peppers
The hot, hazy days of the last week have brought the tomatoes on in force. Every year we trial some new heirloom varieties and we have quite a few this year that we like and will grow again. I don’t need to tell you what to do with a fresh summer tomato, everyone has their favorite way of eating them, what I will tell you is how we like them. Most often we cut a big one up and put it all over the top of our salad, which also includes lettuce, cucumbers and feta cheese. Another favorite way is piled on top of pesto pasta just before eating it. But, oh, on a sandwich, or a burger, in ratatouille, the possibilities are endless.
